9 Things to do now that Your Gigs are Cancelled Because of Coronavirus

Deep breath. Shit’s scary right now. Yeah. I put on CNN for 15 minutes last night and nearly fell into a full on panic. Shut that shit off. Cable news is not helping anyone. Oh, and don’t listen to that Joe Rogan podcast episode with the infectious disease specialist either....

‘I Don’t Want to be the One-Armed Singer.’ Representation and Engagement in the Age of Instagram

I just got back from a couple weeks of traveling. This past week I was in NYC doing some TV interviews about the California 'gig economy' law AB5 which, if unchanged could single handedly crash the California music economy. I've been actively working to get the music industry an e...

Tickets

The last Ari’s Take meetup before my record release show was awesome. I met a bunch of very cool, dedicated musicians. I got a few fantastic CDs from them too. It gave me an idea.

For this next meet up, Thursday July 24th at The Hotel Cafe in Hollywood (preceding my show of course), come with your CDs (or download cards/flash drives) and drop them in the “Ari’s Take Magical Music Box.” It will be setup right by the merch.

I will listen to every CD. Promise. Maybe not every song, but I will listen to at least 2. If you have two songs you’d like me to listen to first please mark that on the CD (or make a text edit/word doc on the flash drive). If you gave me your CD at the last meetup, please bring another one to enter this contest.

I will pick my favorite 3 albums and write an album review and profile your band on Ari’s Take and in the email blast.

Don’t worry, I have a very diverse musical taste. All genres are welcomed.

The only way to enter is:

1) Get tickets to the show

2) Email your ticket receipt to: meetup@aristake.com

3) Come to the show and drop it in the box!

If you don’t live in LA, get a friend to do it! Or post an ad on Craigslist. As long as your CD ends up in the box by the end of the night, you’re golden.

If you don’t have any music out or don’t want to participate, no problem. Still come to the meet up, have a drink with the other talented musicians and industry folk, pass out some business cards and enjoy some wonderful music. Yes, I think my music is wonderful dammit.

The meet up will last from 7-8:45PM in the front bar room of the Hotel Cafe. I hit right at 9:00 on the nose.

The album submissions will be limited to the first 25 who RSVP.
