Musicians Will Receive Assistance Under the Stimulus Package

9 Things to do now that Your Gigs are Cancelled Because of Coronavirus

Deep breath. Shit’s scary right now. Yeah. I put on CNN for 15 minutes last night and nearly fell into a full on panic. Shut that shit off. Cable news is not helping anyone. Oh, and don’t listen to that Joe Rogan podcast episode with the infectious disease specialist either....

‘I Don’t Want to be the One-Armed Singer.’ Representation and Engagement in the Age of Instagram

I just got back from a couple weeks of traveling. This past week I was in NYC doing some TV interviews about the California 'gig economy' law AB5 which, if unchanged could single handedly crash the California music economy. I've been actively working to get the music industry an e...
Ari Herstandhttps://ariherstand.com
Ari Herstand is a Los Angeles based musician, the founder and CEO of Ari’s Take and the author of How to Make It in the New Music Business.

I’m doing a quick Midwest tour at the end of the month and I want to meet the Ari’s Take crowd! I’ve hosted a couple meetups before my shows in LA and they went really well. Lots of people exchanged business cards and made connections. Past meetups have included entertainment lawyers, startup CEOs, managers, booking agents, bloggers and of course musicians. If you’re unfamiliar with what a meetup is, it’s a time for like minded music biz heads to get together and talk about the industry, their music, the scene and football. Actually, I won’t be talking about football because I’m in zero fantasy leagues and LA doesn’t have a team (yet) and I just don’t follow football, BUT it’s football season so I’m assuming conversations will drift that way by default. If you’re looking to meet other driven musicians in your scene this will be a great opportunity for it. Or just come and have a drink with me before the show and let’s chat some biz!

Bring your CDs and business cards and join me at the meetup closest to you. I will have the Ari’s Take Magic Music Box present at every show for you to drop in your CDs which I will listen to on the road. And remember, always do this before giving your CD away!

To attend the meetup, email meetup@aristake.com with the city’s meetup you’re looking to attend. Include your band name, company or affiliation along with a link to your website. Meetups will be very limited in each city for space. Meetup location will be emailed to attendees. Oh and grab a ticket to the show too (not mandatory but definite brownie points for coming to the show as well!)

Openers for the shows are Ari’s Take readers. I asked the email list last week if anyone wanted to open the show and got a lot of incredible submissions.
